Play the Guitar: Lesson 8

In the last part we've talked about our second song, San Fracisco by Scott McKanzie. Now it is time for some more questions from the complaints department.

   The Complaints Department. Part III.

   1. But... but... I can't see the strings!

Yes. You need to make sure that you have plenty of light and it does not hinder your ability to see in any way, shape or form.

   2. But... but... I still can't see the strings!

Yeah. Try tilting the guitar towards the ceiling a bit. No, not the stock of the guitar, but the surface of the guitar. This way you can make sure that you have an unobstructed view of all the strings.

   3. But... but... I can't tune my guitar!

Yes. Make sure you do have an electronic tuner gizmo and it has a fully charged battery. Now all you have to do is practice a little. It takes a little while to get used to the little gizmo and it's quirks but... don't worry. It ain't much of a big deal.

   4. But... but... I need a video!

Yeah. It would be so much easier if I made a video, but give me some time to muster my courage, will ya? It is not an easy thing, being a celebrity, ya know...

Alright. That's it for now, if there are more problems let me know.

Two guitars

But... but... my fingers are short. I can't reach the strings properly. :-p

This is a very serious complaint, indeed. Glad I thought of it :-p

Do what I do: blame the guitar :D. Maybe it is too big for you. Try a smaller one.

It's all in the wrist, see? The face of the palm has to cover the strings. You have to face palm them. Just like Picard does.

Now drop your palm down a little and position the thumb on the low part of the back of the neck of the guitar. That's it! Now your fingers can reach any string you want.

Thank you for visiting :)
